Claims Substantiation for Hand and Body Washes and In-Shower Lotions
Stephens can test your hand soaps, body washes, and in-shower body lotions for mildness and moisturization properties by exaggerated wash and kinetic studies.
Exaggerated wash studies measure the mildness of products and are designed to condense weeks of typical use into just a few days, with evaluations before and after subjects repeatedly wash their hands, arms, or legs in the clinic.
Kinetic studies measure the effects of a product on skin moisturization on the lower legs or forearms over a period of time (eg. 1, 8 and 24 hours) in a population of subjects with mild to moderate skin dryness. Additional measurements can be added to kinetic studies to test for the mildness of the product.
Our Dallas and Phoenix Research Centers have three multi-faucet stations for high throughput. Our subject database includes children, teenagers, and adults, so you can test your product on the appropriate population.
